Zeta Pi Sigma continues to follow the sorority’s motto of “Greater Service, Greater Progress”. In Pitt County and the neighboring areas, our chapter aims to assist and support the local communities. Zeta Pi Sigma collaborates with various community organizations in Eastern North Carolina.

Sorority Mission
It is the mission of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. to enhance the quality of life for women and their families in the U.S. and globally through community service, civil, and social action. Our goal is to achieve greater progress in the areas of education, health awareness, and leadership development. Our members, affiliates, staff, and community partners work to create and support initiatives that align with our vision.
ZPS Vision
The vision of the Zeta Pi Sigma Chapter is to be recognized as an organization that is determined to make a positive impact within eastern NC through community service, scholastic achievement, and social activism.
The Zeta Pi Sigma Alumnae Chapter, chartered in 1984, located in Greenville, North Carolina is a chapter within Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc.

Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc.
Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. was organized on November 12, 1922 in Indianapolis, Indiana, by seven young educators. The group became an incorporated national collegiate sorority on December 30, 1929, when a charter was granted to the Alpha Chapter at Butler University.
Founded in the midst of segregation, Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. is the only sorority of the four historically African-American sororities which comprise the National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC) established at a predominantly white campus.
It is the mission of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. to enhance the quality of life for women and their families in the U.S. and globally through community service, civil, and social action. Our goal is to achieve greater progress in the areas of education, health awareness, and leadership development. Our members, affiliates, staff, and community partners work to create and support initiatives that align with our vision.
